Helpful Home Toothache Remedies

Food acts as an essential need for us, it serves as the fuel that we use in our daily routines and other activities. With all the day’s work, we intend to boost our energy by eating or drinking sweets. Energy boosters are mostly chocolates and other sweets, which are also known as our teeth’s top ranked enemy. We usually do not advise anyone to stop from eating chocolates and we also need it once in a while. But too much chocolate intake can lead to tooth decay that may result to toothache. It can happen anytime without the heads up; when at home and toothache is suddenly felt, do not worry, remedies can be done in the comfort of your own home; here are some toothache remedy tips that can be done:

SALT AND PEPPER
The combination of salt and pepper is an easy remedy for tooth sensitivity. Just mix an equal amount of salt and pepper in a bowl and then put a few drops of water until the mixture turns into a paste. Apply the paste product on the affected part and allow it to rest for a few minutes.

BROWN PAPER AND VINEGAR
When you experience sudden pain in your teeth, soak a small piece of brown paper in vinegar. The paper could come from your grocery bag or lunch bag, then sprinkle the other side of the paper with pepper and hold it on your cheeks. The warm sensation it release can distract you from your toothache.

ASAFETIDA
Bleeding gums and tooth aches can be treated in your own home by the use of asafetida. The procedure is easy, just add a smidge of asafetida powder in your lemon juice, and warm it for a bit. When the solution is already warm, use a cue tip to apply the mixture to the affected area and you will be surprised when that the pain is relieved.

ICE
To relieve toothache, place a small piece of ice in a plastic bag and wrap it with a thin cloth. Apply it directly over the cheeks where your aching tooth is for 15 minutes to numb the nerves on your teeth. Another option is by placing the ice pack directly over your aching teeth.
FYI: you can also massage your hands with ice, according to research when the nerves of our fingers felt the cold it automatically sends signals to the brain that can dominate the pain signals from the teeth.

SOOTHE WITH TEA
Teas are not just for cleansing but are also for toothache. Peppermint teas have a nice flavor and some numbing power. Put a teaspoon of dried peppermint leaves in a cup of boiling water and steep it for 20 minutes. When the tea cools, have a sip and swish it on your mouth then spit it out or you can swallow it. Black teas also acts as pain relievers, the tea reduces inflammations as well.

SALT
Dissolve a teaspoon of salt in boiling water and use it as a mouthwash; it will clean away irritating cavity remains and reduces swelling. This solution cleanses the areas around the teeth and it also draws out some of the fluid that causes swelling. You can repeat the treatment every time you feel sudden toothaches.
